Welcome to Nine Lives, the all-Caryl fan fiction archive!
We’re thrilled you’ve decided to join us.
Nine Lives is unique to the Walking Dead fandom - a place where fans of the Carol+Daryl ship can come to find stories featuring their favorite pairing without the clutter and difficulties they may have encountered on other fanfic sites.
We think we're special in other ways, too:

On the front page you'll find the Shout Box, which lets our members interact in real time - recommending stories to each other, getting help in some show detail for a story they're writing, commiserating through hiatuses.

We also have private messaging for any conversations you’d prefer to keep private.

Every month, we collect "Members of the Month" nominations for members’ favorite authors and reviewers - just another way to show our appreciation for their efforts.

We run periodic fic challenges - no particular schedule, just whenever we think it's time! - based on a theme, and boy do we get some terrific responses. We're blessed by enormously talented authors writing for our ship. We also have a section with prompts provided by members - stories they’d like to see written!

Once a week, we promote a Featured Story - either selected by the administration team or nominated by the site’s members - to promote stories or authors that you may not have seen before. Click on that link and you'll find a running list of every featured story back to the beginning of the site!

There's a chat room linked right on the main page - it’s titled “Caryl Fiction Writers”, but the truth is it's available almost all the time for any of our members to get together and talk about whatever they like - the Shout Box's "no spoilers" policy doesn't apply there! At least once a month we do run a special focused session, like our writer's chats where authors and would-be authors can talk shop.

You can mark your favorite stories or authors and receive notifications when they update, even add stories to a “bookshelf” for later reading. We want to make it as easy as possible to indulge your love for Caryl!

You can find the answer to pretty much any question you might have re: navigating the site in the FAQ. And for anything you can’t find answers to, you can always send a private message to one of our admins - Fairies Masquerade, ikkleosu, or subversivegrrl.
Please note: A while back we decided to include “McReedus” stories on Nine Lives - real person fic featuring Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus. We know that’s not to everyone’s taste - those stories should all be marked “RPF” for those who are either looking specifically for those stories or trying to avoid them.
