I honestly think it’s unrealistic that basically only Beth (and once Maggie) sings in the show. I understand it’s a plot device, but in actuality I think in a media-silenced world almost all of them would be trying to fill those spaces of boredom and loneliness with the sound of their own voices – even if they didn’t sing well. Singing is a way to remember things, too. I guess this is a songfic?? I don’t know. I don’t really read or write them. Carol sings, so I put in the words.
