1. Chapter 1 by kaoscraze82 [Reviews - 8] Liked (2000 words)

What? Two challenges in a row? I know I can’t believe it either. My writing muse has returned momentarily so for whatever fleeting amount of time I have left to shell these things out I’m just gonna go with it.

I was very intrigued by this challenge. I already spend an unhealthy amount of time obsessing over Caryl and what they would do if they were in these scenes together, so this was right up my alley. For the challenge, I picked the episode that I felt best complimented my writing style, which happened to be “The Next World” (6.10) where Rick and Daryl go out on a run for supplies and end up running into Jesus instead. I love the flow of the episode and the lighter moments that we so rarely get to see. I especially had a lot of fun taunting Daryl with the notion that Jesus is what we ladies call a hottie. There are some parts throughout the story that literally come right out of the show, but I also ad-libbed a lot of things to keep the flow going. The first part you're about to read really isn't in the episode at all, but I needed somewhere easy to start and this seemed like a good way to do it. Also, Carol will be much more optimistic in this story than is normal, but since she's essentially playing 'Rick' to Daryl, I wanted to keep the tone the same. Plus, writing happy Carol is a lot more fun than all the doom and gloom she usually gets thrown at her!

Also, this will have four parts in the end. Three are ready, four is not. I will have it updated soon I promise. It'll be a lot easier this time since I'm not travelling this time! Enjoy!

Well what a response! I'm so happy people seem to really be enjoying this story. I was afraid everyone would take this idea but was surprised to see I was the only one. I guess we all worry someone else will take our moments and write it better than we did right? Awesome challenge entries by all though, I'm in good company!

Here's chapter two, which is now from Carol's POV. I'm going to switch back and forth every chapter cause it actually worked out best that way. We get to see the moment from both of their perspectives which I always enjoy. A balancing act if you will. This chapter is pretty much straight out of the episode but with filler along the way. Anyway, I'll shut up now. Go read and enjoy!!

Hello all! Time for part three of the Caryl adventures. What will they find when they go on the hunt for Jesus and the stolen van? How will they ever catch up? Will Daryl be able to get over his hatred of running? The answers to all of these questions can be found if you simply go read and find out!

Well, here we are at the end of the story! Hope you like it...I kind of swapped some things around and instead of having a Richonne moment...well I won't ruin it for you, but hopefully no one will mind that I took a slightly different turn with it. Hope everyone has a happy holiday weekend and that you get to go out and do something fun!
