Carol has been a soldier all of her adult life. She is wounded in all sorts of ways but she is still is a fighter. Still trying to overcome her guilt and remorse about having to kill as a soldier and the lingering effects of her physical wounds.

Daryl has found a home in the National Park Service. He has a comfortable happy life but he finds himself drawn to Carol is new neighbor.
