Totally agree!! ReeRoo are awesome, LOVE the Dixons!! And yes, fan fic with Merle is just that much better. Cant wait to see GoG2!! Went to my first Comicon to see Mike Rooker, kind and lovely man, and funny!!

Two: because a character like Merle would provide additional power for them, also complexity, because of his loud, problematic nature. humour. Not to mention Merle's charm. (yes, I dig Rooker) :D

THIS! This point of view! Oh my gosh, I miss Merle as hell too! Once: because of obvious opportunity to widen our view on Daryl/Dixon fate before the turn, maybe see further development, change for both of them...

Also, Denise and Daryl had such good chemistry and funny moments, there was so much potential for some hilarity with those two. Why does the show keep killing off interesting people?! Poor Daryl is never allowed any happiness. Ever. I just want him to be happy. That's why I come here. You guys rock.

I just want to put this out there: I miss Merle. He was such an interesting character and I think his time was cut short too soon on the show. They lost the potential for so many interesting developments/conversations. Glad to see so many excellent depictions of Merle in the stories here.

coreenfw, I think what those fics were referring to was that the producers/writers were considering killing off Carol in S3 of the show as well. Not the same way GN Carol went at all, but... I think the article Sira linked below talks about that.

Nd yes, comic Carol died in the prison time. Commited suicide by Walker... and truly, IMHO no great loss. She also had a relationship with Tyreese.

Yeah, is n the comics Carol was not OUR Carol, she was a younger and much weaker character, no great loss. OUR Carol is wonderful!! I give Melissa huge props and much of the credit for transforming her into the Carol we all love now.
