Thanks for the responses but that one wasn't it. Starts out with Beth having car trouble and Merle fixes it for her. Merle tries to clean himself up for her. He then helps her drive people home from the bar. Thanks again.

I also tend to go with Scotch-Irish surnames just because the Scotch-Irish were among the primary settlers in Georgia. Always thought a French surname was odd for Ed....

I usually give her Irish/Scottish names as a surname in my stories because McBride is that origin; also German names occasionally in some of my stories. Not sure why Mason pops up so much because the Mason-Dixon line is actually here in Maryland (a little known fact but Im from here lol)

I've seen Miller before. I've used Gallagher and Hayes in different stories. I've seen Jones and Smitg used. I think it would be pretty cool if canon ever gave her maiden name as Mason, due to the Mason-Dixon line in Georgia. I would use it but I don't want to copy whoever came up with it.

I know Carol's maiden name has never come up. But fanfic authors including me seem to have stayed to a few. I have seen Mason (most prevalent), Andrews, Thorn, and a couple more M names. Curious if anybody here can list more? Might be fun.
