A Note on Personal Story or Author Graphics

Just a little note on the topic of banners/book covers/story graphics. While we do encourage you to make your author or story pages your own and are happy for you to use graphics to do this, it is worth being aware of a couple of things:

1) A lot of people visit the site using only the "mobile" version of the site. Graphics may not be resized in the mobile version of the site and so may appear much larger - in relation to the page - than on the desktop version.

2) When viewing the graphics via mobile it may require a lot of scrolling to get past them to the story information.

3) Users on mobile will have to use a lot more data to load images than to load the text of a story.

Thus, it should be considered that large story or author graphics MAY put off some readers from viewing your page due to these issues.

No problem on my device - Samsung prime.

I love the idea of the larger covers, but I always use a small banner for here bc it looks the best. I think there is a way to make the images a clickable thumbnail so that those that wish to see them full-size are able to do so.

Do you happen to have better dimensions for the size of a graphic? I simply use the ffnet dimensions for my banners bc I post there too. Would value your advice thanks

300-350px is a safe height far as the site code is concerned, for anyone that might stumble across this and want an answer, too :) The width is not usually an issue, but as a suggestion 350 height - 800 width would be a safe place to start if wondering dimensions for banners.
