Dear Reader,

This fic sat in my WIP folder for years. I originally wrote it to celebrate National Poetry Month 2016. Thank you to subversivegrrl for helping me to polish it so I could finally set it free. I'll post every Friday in April.

It's never too late to enjoy Caryl.

Here is the conclusion to our little fantasy, dear reader. A time jump only seems fitting! Posting this feels more bittersweet than usual. I’m sorry that I didn’t post it yesterday. What can I say, it’s been a terrible week. Like many of you, I’m sure, I have been processing the news, vacillating between shock, sadness, anger, and numbness—all the stages of grief actually. I still haven’t been able to cry my eyes out like I want to, but I’m sure that’s coming.

Thank you so much for joining me on this little adventure. Especially for the couple dozen or so of you who have been commenting. Thank you for making me not regret posting this dear little fic that I held on to for way too long. You are angels! I love you all dearly!

Writing is my therapy, so I will probably keep doing it, attempting the seemingly impossible task of completing all my WIPs. It’s quite the challenge. Except for a terrible oneshot I wrote for Mulder and Scully in my younger days, I’ve only ever written for Caryl. They truly are my heart. But I’ll probably only post stories in the future as long as there continues to be an audience wanting to hear them. So I hope you stick around and continue to support all the wonderful writers that make up this fandom. Thank you for your support over these long hopeful years. It has meant everything to me. XXOO -jb
