Finally getting around to posting this here, just in time for the winter holidays - written almost exactly two years ago for the USS Caryl First Winter/Holiday Fanfiction/Art Challenge.
There are aspects of this that I am not particularly happy with, that I would have done differently if I were writing it today, but if I went back and tried to re-write every one of my older stories that I was dissatisfied with, I wouldn't get much new stuff done. (Hush, you, I know I don't get that much new stuff done either way.)
I particularly apologize for the length of the two poems included, but they are two of my favorite pieces for performing at a Solstice celebration, so SUFFER. Or enjoy. Or both. (I have never partnered with a drummer for the first one. Maybe some year that will happen.)
