So much of Carol was buried behind capable hands and a close mouthed smile. Those careworn objects were clearly cherished; loved even. Kept with her always. But she never talked about who they belonged to or why she clung to them almost desperately. She guarded those secrets as assiduously as she cleaned her guns or cooked a meal.
